Cairo and Paris are strengthening their economic dialogue, focusing on the expansion of French companies in Egypt and preparations for a business forum slated for September 28-29 in France.
On Monday, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, and the French ambassador to Egypt, Eric Chevallier, discussed ways to boost French investment and support French companies already established in the country, according to a statement from the Egyptian
Ministry of Investment.
The talks took place alongside an inspection tour of the 10th of Ramadan City, specifically visiting the French company L’Oréal and ECPC – an Egyptian firm affiliated with the Consolis Group, which
specialises in precast concrete.
The two officials also addressed preparations for the France-Egypt Business Forum 2026.
“The government is committed to maintaining a direct dialogue with the French business community, supporting the expansion of companies already operating in the Egyptian market, and attracting new investment,” Mohamed Farid said.
The talks focused on the challenges faced by French companies and ways to support their growth and increased production.
The France-Egypt Business Forum will be held on September 28 and 29 at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris and the Hotel de Region in Lyon.
Organised by Business France and its partners, the event aims to assist French SMEs and mid-sized enterprises (ETIs) looking to export to Egypt or establish a presence there.
Key sectors highlighted include retail, services, culture, and industrial modernisation.
The event will bring together companies and institutional stakeholders from both countries for conferences and business meetings designed to identify market opportunities and forge new partnerships.
Egyptian authorities are also highlighting prospects in infrastructure, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, technology, and services.
According to data provided by Business France, nearly 4,500 French companies already export to Egypt.
The Egyptian government aims to leverage this economic presence to attract new investors and deepen industrial and commercial partnerships with France, as the country pursues its modernization programs under the “Egypt Vision 2030” strategy.
