The Canada-Africa Chamber of Commerce and the Africa Prosperity Network (APN) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing trade and investment between Canada and the African continent.
A memorandum of understanding was signed in Abidjan during the Africa CEO Forum (May 11-12).
The signing ceremony, held at the residence of the Canadian Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, was attended by Paula Caldwell St-Onge, Chair of the Canada-Africa Chamber of Commerce, and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, President of the APN, under the patronage of Ambassador Anderson Blanc.
The agreement outlines increased collaboration between the two organizations, including the integration of their programs and the development of joint initiatives to foster sustainable economic opportunities. Ms. St-Onge highlighted the “concrete scope” of the agreement, which followed extensive discussions, and acknowledged the pivotal role of former Chamber Chair Sebastian Spio-Garbrah in finalizing the partnership.
Mr. Otchere-Darko emphasized that the alliance aligns with the APN’s vision of establishing “solid and concrete” partnerships across Africa.
Ambassador Anderson Blanc underscored the strategic importance of the agreement, stating, “This protocol embodies a bridge between ideas, talents, and shared ambitions,” while reaffirming Canada’s commitment to innovative partnerships with Africa.
