As announced by the Chadian Ministry of Land-Use Planning, Housing, and Urban Development, a memorandum of understanding in the field of land-use planning was signed by Adib Benbrahim, Moroccan Secretary of State for Housing, and Mahamat Assileck Halata, Chadian Minister of Land-Use Planning, Urban Development, and Housing.
Concluded for a renewable three-year period, the memorandum is part of the strengthening of South-South cooperation and the Royal Directives aimed at promoting the sharing of expertise among African countries.
The agreement provides for the transfer of Moroccan expertise, the exchange of experiences in urban planning and sustainable development, the training of professionals, and the creation of specialised technical institutes.
Both countries also commit to simplifying administrative procedures and promoting balanced and climate-resilient urban development.
A high-level visit by a Moroccan delegation is expected soon in Ndjamena to solidify the partnerships resulting from this agreement, which aims to foster sustainable and inclusive urban development for the benefit of both nations.
