The first edition of the Moroccan Agro-Industrial Investment Forum in Côte d’Ivoire (FIAMCI) opened on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, on the banks of the Ebrie lagoon, marking a decisive turning point in Ivorian-Moroccan agricultural cooperation.
The Minister of State for Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Mr. Adjoumani Kouassi Kobenan, opened the 2025 edition of the Moroccan Agro-Industrial Investment Forum in Côte d’Ivoire (FIAMCI). This initiative is supported by the Ivorian Agricultural Council in Morocco (CA-IM).
Mr. Adjoumani praised these young talents who have “achieved a real feat by bringing together today the major players in the agricultural ecosystems of our two countries.”
“In less than two years of existence, the CA-IM has established itself as a bridge of excellence between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, thus demonstrating that our youth is capable of carrying out structuring projects of international scope,” he declared.
To him, this demonstrates the relevance of the vision of President Alassane Ouattara who has made the transformation of agriculture a national priority. A vision that finds a remarkable echo in Moroccan expertise, the fruit of the visionary leadership of King Mohammed VI.
“The agro-industrial transformation that we are calling for requires strategic partnerships. Morocco, with its successful experience in agricultural modernization, represents a partner of choice,” he
maintained.
The forum brought together prominent Moroccan experts and investors, which “testifies to the strength of this cooperation,” according to the minister of state, who assured stakeholders that his
ministerial department “is firmly committed to supporting the initiatives that will emerge from this forum.”
“We have put in place an incentive framework to facilitate investments in the agro-industry and promote win-win partnerships,” he added.
To develop this sector, the government has created nine agro-industrial hubs throughout the country.
“We are convinced that these experiences and know-how can be shared with our Ivorian partners to build together a resilient, innovative and sustainable agricultural sector,” said Mr. Rajaa Belfkih, on
behalf of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.
Côte d’Ivoire, thanks to its dynamic and diversified agriculture, has established itself as a major player in the regional economy. This sector, which represents approximately 22 percent of GDP, is a real
engine of growth, and supports 2/3 of the population.
The 2025 edition of FIAMCI, which takes place from February 5 to 8, will be filled with conferences, business meetings and visits to agro-industrial sites.
Panels are also planned that will highlight the agro-industrial potential and agricultural investment opportunities of the two countries.
