Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo arrived in Israel on Monday, August 31, for an official working visit at the invitation of Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Aimed at deepening bilateral relations between Kinshasa and Tel Aviv, the trip includes high-level diplomatic meetings in Jerusalem with both President Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to review key sectors of mutual interest.
Discussions between the heads of state are set to focus heavily on security, defense, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, and high technology. These areas represent strategic priorities for the Congolese government as it seeks to strengthen national capacity, enhance sovereignty, and address ongoing security challenges in the eastern region of the DRC. Kinshasa is also looking to leverage advanced Israeli expertise to drive domestic development in agricultural production, tech integration, and energy infrastructure.
Marking President Tshisekedi’s second official visit to Israel following his initial trip in 2021, the delegation’s arrival underscores growing diplomatic momentum between the two nations, which previously included a visit by President Herzog to the DRC in November 2025. The bilateral talks are anticipated to yield new cooperation agreements and provide fresh momentum for long-term strategic partnerships.
