Congolese influencer Denise Dusauchoy was arrested in Tanzania on Sunday, August 30, 2026, pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued by Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) judicial authorities.
Announcing the detention on Monday, August 31, the Congolese Ministry of Justice confirmed that the operation was executed under formal international judicial cooperation frameworks tied to several ongoing criminal investigations involving Dusauchoy and other individuals.
The arrest follows a series of cross-border legal actions initiated by Kinshasa. Between October and November 2025, the Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation dispatched three international letters rogatory to Belgian judicial authorities concerning cases filed by the Kinshasa/Gombe High Court Prosecutor’s Office. The issuance of international arrest warrants subsequently enabled Tanzanian security forces to apprehend Dusauchoy upon her entry into the country, marking a major milestone in multi-jurisdictional cooperation for the DRC justice system.
In its official statement, the Congolese Ministry of Justice commended the Tanzanian government for its prompt assistance, framing the operational success as a vital effort in combating impunity and pursuing extra-territorial justice. The ministry nevertheless highlighted that the arrest remains a procedural step, reaffirming Dusauchoy’s right to the presumption of innocence until a final verdict is rendered.
