The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has begun a series of regional consultations in Matam, northern Senegal, focusing on the crucial “Youth, Peace, and Security” agenda.
These meetings, which will extend to the Tambacounda and Kedougou regions, are designed to develop Senegal’s National Action Plan on Youth, Peace, and Security. The initiative emphasizes empowering young people as key actors in promoting stability and sustainable development.
This effort aligns with both ECOWAS’s Vision 2050 and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250, highlighting the region’s commitment to youth inclusion in building lasting peace.
