Gambian President Adama Barrow has sent a written message to King Mohammed VI concerning bilateral relations and other key matters.
The message from President Barrow was delivered in Rabat on Thursday to Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita by Sering Modou Njie, Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.
In a statement to the press after the meeting, Njie praised the bonds of friendship and fraternity between the two countries and their shared commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership in line with the vision of King Mohammed VI and President Adama Barrow.
The foreign minister commended the strong ties between Morocco and The Gambia, highlighting their cordial and mutually beneficial relations rooted in shared values of friendship, fraternity and solidarity.
He reiterated his country’s firm commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across shared priority sectors.
The Gambia continues to back Morocco’s Sahara autonomy plan and regularly reaffirms its diplomatic support.
Banjul says the autonomy plan is the only viable solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
