Morocco and the European Union signed three projects on Tuesday in Rabat, as part of the Support
Programme for Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in the kingdom.
The Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and the EU Ambassador to Morocco, Dimiter Tzantchev, presided over the signing ceremony for these projects with the Africalia Foundation, the Goethe-Institute, and the Hiba Foundation.
The aim is to strengthen the CCI ecosystem as a driver of economic development and social inclusion for young people.
These three projects, resulting from a call for proposals, directly support young Moroccan creators by assisting them with their projects and creations in collaboration with European partners, while also helping them access information.
The first project, “Iqlaa Your Cultural Accelerator,” led by Africalia in collaboration with the Hiba
Foundation and the French Institute, focuses on supporting young businesses in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) through a program designed to ensure their economic sustainability.
The second project, “Hi-Fenn Connect, Create Resonate,” conducted by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with the Ali Zaoua Foundation and the Wallonia-Brussels Foundation, aims to promote exchanges between the Moroccan and European creative ecosystems by encouraging co-creation and the sharing of expertise.
The third project, “Creative Morocco Gate,” led by the Hiba Foundation and the Association of Independent Radio and Television Stations (ARTI), aims to provide a support platform for entrepreneurs operating in the sector, facilitate access to information and networking, and
foster development opportunities.
Mr. Bensaid affirmed on this occasion that the partnership between Morocco and the EU reflects the
strength of bilateral cooperation in various political, diplomatic, and cultural fields.
The cultural and creative industries (CCIs) sector is now a genuine driver of economic development, the minister stated, noting that these industries now occupy a prominent place in the global economy and contribute tangibly to the development of several countries’ economies.
He noted that Morocco is working to develop a clear strategy to strengthen the positioning of Moroccan culture on the international market.
The EU ambassador to Rabat indicated that this signing is part of strengthening the partnership between the EU and the kingdom, highlighting the importance of cooperation between NGOs and European cultural institutions.
This momentum is reflected in joint initiatives and projects, including Morocco Gaming Expo 2026,
which serves as an important platform for showcasing young Moroccan talent, he said, welcoming the continuation of this momentum through the signing of new projects supporting the cultural and creative industries (CCIs).
For Mr. Tzantchev, this cooperation reflects a shared vision for promoting creativity and supporting young people through initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening cultural and creative ecosystems and developing partnership opportunities among various stakeholders.
