Morocco and France reaffirmed the renewed momentum of their strategic partnership during the 23rd meeting of the Franco-Moroccan Joint Military Commission, held on December 9 and 10 in Paris.
The meeting was co-chaired by Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, and Air Force General Fabien Mandon, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces.
According to a statement from the FAR General Staff, the meeting reflects the renewed momentum in bilateral relations, stemming from the shared ambition expressed by King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron during the historic 2024 visit to Morocco.
The leaders of both armed forces “welcomed the excellent Moroccan-French military cooperation and its positive results, particularly during 2025.” They emphasized the importance of broadening the exchange of experiences and expertise into new areas of common interest.
The 23rd commission meeting served as a crucial event in the strategic dialogue between the two militaries. Both parties used the occasion to: Agree on the activities to be included in the cooperation program for 2026. Develop mutually beneficial cooperation. Align strategic approaches to security and technological challenges. The cooperation is designed to strengthen bilateral military ties in various fields, notably joint training exercises.
