Morocco and Germany have reaffirmed their strong commitment to revitalizing and strengthening their bilateral partnership across various sectors, with a particular focus on investment, through the “Morocco Now” economic roadshow.
The Moroccan Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidane, met with the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali-Radovan, in Berlin on Wednesday, December 10, to discuss investment opportunities and future cooperation.
The meeting was held as part of the German leg of the “Morocco Now” roadshow, an initiative designed to implement the national strategy for promoting Morocco’s investment and export offerings internationally.
Minister Zidane stated that the discussions provided an opportunity to present the abundant investment opportunities available in the Kingdom and explore promising bilateral cooperation prospects. A major outcome of the meeting was the emphasis on organizing a Moroccan-German Economic Forum in Morocco next April, which will convene political leaders and economic stakeholders from both nations.
Mr. Zidane is leading a large delegation, which includes the Director General of the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), Ali Seddiki, and the Director General of the Caisse de Depot et de Gestion (CDG), Khalid Safir.
The roadshow, which is making stops in Berlin, Munich, and Stuttgart, aims to showcase Morocco’s competitive advantages to German institutional and economic decision-makers. The objective is to strengthen economic relations by highlighting opportunities in high-potential industrial sectors and exploring new avenues for collaboration, particularly in: automotive, electric mobility, electronics and energy.
During the Berlin visit, the Moroccan minister met with several major German economic players, including representatives from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Enertrag (a renewable energy leader), and Schneider Electric (an energy management and automation group). The German tour follows similar roadshows in the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
