The 31st edition of the European Film Weeks, organized by the European Union in Morocco, will take place from January 28 to February 11, 2026, in three major cities across the Kingdom.
The event is organized in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Moroccan Cinema Center (CCM), and EU Member States. It has established itself as a key cultural fixture since 1991, fostering dialogue between Moroccan and European audiences through a shared passion for cinema.
The festival schedule is as follows: Casablanca: January 28 to February 4. Marrakech: January 30 to February 6. Rabat: February 4 to February 11.
The 2026 edition aims to continue its “spirit of openness and diversity” by offering a selection of European feature films that have recently received recognition at major international festivals. The program will feature a “vibrant and demanding panorama of contemporary creation,” showcasing established masters, established auteurs, and emerging filmmakers.
In parallel with the European features, the event will present a dedicated selection of short films by directors from the southern Mediterranean. This section is a hallmark of the festival, aiming to “highlight young talent and new perspectives” to strengthen artistic dialogue and encourage the circulation of works and ideas within the Euro-Mediterranean region. The full list of selected films is scheduled to be announced soon.
