Ahead of the summer season, Morocco is extending a digital invitation to tourists from the Gulf, Middle East, and North Africa through a major promotional campaign in collaboration with the travel platform Wego, as announced by Moroccan tourism authorities on Tuesday.
Spearheaded by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), this summer initiative seeks to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a premier destination for Arab travelers. The campaign will highlight Morocco’s diverse natural beauty, rich heritage, and renowned gastronomy to attract an audience seeking authentic cultural experiences and varied landscapes.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the ONMT to introduce our users to the richness of the Moroccan experience,” stated Mamoun Hamidan, Chief Operating Officer at Wego. The leading travel app in the MENA region will bolster the campaign’s visibility through targeted digital content, e-guides, and capsules produced by influencers.
Morocco is showcasing its myriad attractions through an immersive digital strategy, from the blue alleys of Chefchaouen and the sunny beaches of Agadir to the majestic Atlas Mountains, the imperial cities of Marrakech, Fez, and Rabat, and the cultural ports of Essaouira and El Jadida. The campaign also emphasizes the cultural experience, inviting visitors to explore local crafts, partake in vibrant festivals, and savor iconic specialties like couscous and pastilla.
Rachid Hamzaoui, ONMT Director for the Middle East and Asia, noted that this campaign aims to position Morocco as the “top summer option” for tourists in the region. It forms part of a targeted tourism revival effort, with Morocco seeking to capture a growing share of the Arab market by focusing on accessible, exotic offerings rooted in traditional Moroccan hospitality. The campaign is slated to run throughout the summer, playing a key role in boosting tourist arrivals from the Gulf and Middle Eastern countries.
