The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with Morocco’s Local Organizing Committee, has officially unveiled the six venues that will host the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to run from July 5 to 26, 2025.
This edition marks a significant first for the competition, as matches will be held simultaneously across six different stadiums in various Moroccan cities.
The newly constructed Olympic Stadium in Rabat, with its 21,000-seat capacity and state-of-the-art facilities, is set to host the tournament’s opening matches. Casablanca will feature two venues: the recently renovated Larbi Zaouli Stadium, currently serving as a temporary home for Raja and Wydad Casablanca, and the historic Père Jégo Stadium, a smaller but significant ground named after a legendary Moroccan coach.
Mohammedia will be represented by the El Bachir Stadium, which underwent renovations in 2019 and previously hosted the U17 AFCON final. The Stade d’Honneur in Oujda, boasting a 35,000-seat capacity, is frequently used for international matches. Completing the list is the Stade de Berkane, home of RS Berkane, which was renovated in 2017 and offers 12,000 seats.
This ambitious organizational plan builds on the success of recent CAF competitions, with expectations to surpass previous records in stadium attendance and television viewership for the 2024 WAFCON.
The 12 qualified teams have been drawn into three groups:
- Group A: Morocco, Zambia, Senegal, DR Congo
- Group B: Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Botswana
- Group C: South Africa, Ghana, Mali, Tanzania
