Rwandan Ambassador to Morocco, Shakilla Umutoni, met today in Rabat with Karim Zidane, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government for Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation.
This meeting signifies a crucial step in strengthening the robust bilateral ties between Morocco and Rwanda, with a focus on enhancing their economic, diplomatic, and security partnerships.
The two officials underscored their mutual commitment to boosting cross-investment between Rabat and Kigali. They explored opportunities in vital sectors like agriculture, industry, renewable energy, financial services, and infrastructure. Both emphasized the importance of structured collaboration between their national investment agencies and public institutions to facilitate this growth.
Diplomatically, the discussion falls within the ongoing dialogue that characterizes the exemplary relations between the two nations, driven by shared perspectives on various continental and international issues. Morocco and Rwanda share a common aspiration to rebuild African cooperation on principles of pragmatism, solidarity, and co-development. Their relationship has become particularly dynamic since King Mohammed VI’s 2016 visit to Kigali, marked by a series of strategic agreements and increased high-level exchanges.
The security dimension was also a key part of their discussions.
