Moroccan authorities have officially announced the calendar for the country’s upcoming 2026 parliamentary elections, establishing key operational deadlines ahead of polling day on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, with the digital portal remaining open until noon on Tuesday, September 8. Physical application files will be accepted during the same timeframe starting August 31, though the deadline for hard-copy submissions extends slightly until noon on Wednesday, September 9. The official electoral campaign will commence at midnight on Thursday, September 10, running for nearly two weeks until concluding at midnight on Tuesday, September 22, on the eve of the vote.
The September 23 election will determine the composition of the House of Representatives and establish the successor to Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch. Final figures from an exceptional revision of the electoral rolls completed on July 10, 2026, confirm a total of 15,801,162 registered voters. For Moroccan citizens residing abroad who cannot cast ballots in person from their host countries, authorities have introduced a fully digitalized proxy voting system known as “E-Procuration.” Launching on August 24 via the listeselectorales.ma and elections.ma web portals, the service allows overseas voters registered on the general electoral rolls to participate in the democratic process without needing to travel back to Morocco.
