Senegal’s national football team coach Pape Thiaw has named a 27-player squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Kenya, including a first call-up for two young prospects, Ibrahim Mbaye and Mamadou Sarr.
Senegal will face Brazil on November 15 in London, then Kenya on November 18 in Antalya, Turkey, as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ibrahim Mbaye, 17, a product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy and winner of the 2024 “Titi d’Or” award, is making his debut with the national team.
Mamadou Sarr, 20, a Strasbourg defender and son of former international Pape Sarr, is also among the new call-ups.
These two young players join a largely experienced squad, led by veterans such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, and Sadio Mane.
The return of Assane Diao (Como, Italy) and Rassoul Ndiaye (Le Havre, France) is also noteworthy.
The training camp is the final test for the Lions before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and the 2026 World Cup.
