Minister of Water and Sanitation Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Dièye convened a high-level monitoring session in Diamniadio on Thursday, September 3, 2026, leading the dedicated interministerial task force charged with overseeing liquid and solid waste processing, drainage resilience, and environmental cleanliness. Established following an executive directive from the Prime Minister on July 3, the coordination body unites technical departments, municipal authorities, and ministerial delegates to streamline resource allocation across competition arenas, athlete housing, and primary transport arteries.
During the operational review, officials evaluated the task force’s action matrix, a centralized planning framework designed to track project benchmarks, address infrastructural vulnerabilities, and enforce institutional accountability. Minister Dièye emphasized that preparations must adhere to strict standards of operational efficiency, urging participating agencies to reinforce early-warning systems, share technical resources, and enhance inter-agency communication.
