The InTouch Group has achieved a significant strategic milestone, securing an electronic money institution (EME) license from the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Senegal, alongside payment institution (EDP) status in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso.
These approvals aim to enable the group to offer secure, regulatory-compliant payment services accessible to all economic stakeholders, from small merchants to large enterprises, further solidifying its leadership in West African fintech.
Expanding pan-African footprint
These new licenses for electronic money and digital payments unlock fresh opportunities for InTouch Group to strengthen its position as a pan-African player in omnichannel B2B payments.
“These approvals represent much more than simple recognition of our work. They embody our commitment to transforming Africa’s financial landscape,” said Omar Cisse, the Group’s CEO. “We remain resolutely focused on innovation to offer high-quality, personalized payment solutions.”
In line with this expansion, the group has also obtained a license as a money transfer institution in Guinea from the BCRG (Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea) and gained Payment Service Provider (PSP) status in Tanzania from the BOT (Bank of Tanzania). These accreditations demonstrate the company’s continuous international growth and its proven ability to comply with diverse national regulations.
Commitment to security and financial inclusion
For InTouch Group, these licenses signify an ongoing commitment to providing accessible payment solutions and financial services that meet market demands while democratizing financial services across Africa.
Beyond regulatory compliance, the group ensures its adherence to international standards in cybersecurity and payment management. InTouch Group is ISO/IEC 27001 certified, guaranteeing a rigorous information security management system that protects sensitive data for its users and partners. Its system is also compliant with the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), ensuring a high level of security in data processing. As a Visa-approved Payment Facilitator (PayFac), the group is authorized to support merchants in digitizing their payment services at scale.
With a presence in 27 African countries, these accreditations mark a major milestone, yet they are just the beginning of a new phase of growth for the company. InTouch Group is dedicated to strengthening its ecosystem and offering increasingly relevant solutions to meet the needs of a constantly evolving market.
“We would like to congratulate our teams for their hard work and dedication, as well as all our stakeholders. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and build the future of payments in Africa,” Mr. Cisse concluded.
