The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 44 ships carrying petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected at the Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos.
The NPA said on its Daily Shipping Position on Friday that the vessels were expected between Sept. 25 and Oct. 8.
It explained that 15 of the expected ships are carrying containers laden with various goods, while five vessels are carrying aviation fuel.
It added that the remaining 29 ships are expected to berth with crude oil, diesel, general cargo, aviation fuel, bulk gas, steel, repair boats, bulk urea and bulk clinker.
Meanwhile, the NPA noted that five ships and tanker vessels had arrived at the three ports waiting to berth with bulk urea, stock and petrol.
It also stated that 19 ships are presently discharging containers, fresh fish, general cargo, bulk urea, bulk sugar, bulk salt, aviation, bulk gas, bulk gypsum and petrol at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa and Tincan Island port.
