The Council of Arab Ministers of Information, meeting Wednesday in Cairo under the auspices of the Arab League, praised the sustained commitment of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by King Mohammed VI, in support of the Palestinian cause.
In the resolution adopted at the close of its 55th ordinary session, held in Cairo under the Arab League’s auspices, the Council stressed that “the efforts undertaken by the Al-Quds Committee remain an essential pillar of support for the Palestinian cause.”
It further called on Arab media outlets to give greater visibility to “the work carried out by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, which operates under the authority of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI,” in favour of Al-Quds and the Palestinian population.
At the end of the 55th ordinary session, the Council urged member states as well as media organisations and unions to adopt the initiatives included in the first strategic objective of the executive plan aimed at “affirming the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab nation and the Arab identity of occupied Al-Quds, the capital of the State of Palestine.”
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the Arab Media Honour Charter, follow-up to the Arab media action plan, efforts to combat terrorism, the 2030 sustainable development roadmap, media education and environmental communication. It additionally discussed relations with major international media companies and organisational matters, including the designation of the 2026 Arab Information Capital and the granting of observer status to ICESCO and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
