Botswana has been crowned with the prestigious “Best Stand in Doing Business” Award at the ongoing World Travel Market (WTM) Africa in South Africa’s Cape Town.
The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) created a dynamic, business-driven atmosphere at its exhibition stand, which hosted 17 tour operators dedicated to promoting Botswana’s unique tourism offerings.
BTO said the stand exemplified the country’s strength, diversity and potential as a leading destination, earning high praise from industry experts.
“This recognition honours the vibrant, business-driven atmosphere at the BTO stand where 17 hosted tour operators came together to represent the strength, diversity, and potential of Botswana’s tourism offerings,” the organisation said on Friday.
Receiving the award on behalf of Botswana, Environment and Tourism Minister Wynter Mmolotsi expressed pride in the country’s achievement.
“Botswana is here to sell our pristine tourism to the world,” he said.
Botswana’s tourism sector, renowned for its breathtaking wildlife and world-class conservation efforts, has long been a cornerstone of the nation’s economy.
Attractions such as the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park have drawn global attention, positioning the country as a leader in sustainable tourism.
WTM Africa is a premier event on the global tourism calendar, providing a platform for countries and businesses to network and forge partnerships.
The event is dedicated to advancing the travel and tourism industry across Africa by creating opportunities for business, collaboration and innovation.
