President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, has called on the Burkinabe people to be vigilant against attempts at destabilization, recalling that the current regime is not a democracy.
Speaking on the occasion of the raising of the national flag on Tuesday, Captain Traore paid tribute to the combatant forces for their “exceptional work” in reclaiming the national territory.
“We have made significant progress on the ground; we have been able to recapture areas that were under terrorist control four or five years ago. We have been able to liberate these areas. Other areas are currently in the consolidation phase, which is therefore very significant progress,” the Supreme Commander of the Burkinabe Armed Forces said.
He called on all to redouble their efforts to ensure that 2025 is a year crowned with success at all levels.
The President of Burkina Faso also called on the masses “to be vigilant because today, more than ever, stateless people, the enemies of the nation, are very active.”
“Around the lagoon, they have been meeting for several days. Their goal is to make Burkina Faso relive the tragic events of 1987,” Captain Traore said.
“We are on a war footing. We are firmly awaiting them, their mercenaries, and their actions. And I want to say it, we will be merciless,” he said.
The Head of State urged his fellow citizens not to give in to manipulation, disinformation and subversion.
“Let us remain calm about our objective and not allow ourselves to be diverted, because we will also be without qualms for those who allow themselves to be manipulated,” he warned.
He disclosed that “traitors were arrested” a few days ago. “The traitors are those among us, who continue to work, to be agents for the embassies of imperialist countries established in Burkina Faso. Some have been arrested, and we will continue to unmask others,”
he explained.
Speaking on the political ideology currently underway in Burkina Faso, the President said: “We are not in a democracy. We are indeed in a progressive popular revolution. Everyone must understand
this.
According to him, no country can develop in democracy, which is “the culmination.”
“We necessarily go through a revolution, and we are indeed in a revolution,” he declared, while inviting the Burkinabe people to embrace it.
On the question of democracy, or of libertinism of action or expression, he noted that it has no place and that it leads to a “society of disorder.”
“You can’t have a revolution in disorder; it’s impossible. And we will establish order and discipline so that we can progress. Because social, economic, political, and ideological reforms require order and discipline. And everyone has a role to play,” he declared.
