Violence broke out on June 4, 2026, in the village of Selle when a transhumant herd crossed a cultivated field belonging to a young woman.

The clashes on the first day left two dead and two injured on both sides, while two young Fulani men were reported missing. The following day, June 5, around 5 p.m., Fulani herders launched a retaliatory attack on the neighbouring village of Kroup.
