The Ivorian government has announced a slight price cut for gasoline and diesel, effective for the month of September.
According to a memo from the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, both fuels will decrease by 25 CFA francs per liter.
The price of super unleaded gasoline will fall from 855 CFA francs to 830 CFA francs per liter. This follows a previous reduction of 20 CFA francs in April.
Similarly, diesel, a crucial fuel for the transportation sector, will drop from 700 CFA francs to 675 CFA francs per liter. This is the second decrease for diesel this year, after a 15 CFA franc reduction in April.
Kerosene prices have also been reduced by 25 CFA francs, bringing the cost down to 705 CFA francs per liter from 730 CFA francs.
Despite the reductions in liquid fuels, the price of butane gas will stay the same for September. A 6 kg cylinder remains at 2,000 CFA francs, while a 12.5 kg cylinder costs 5,200 CFA francs. Prices for larger cylinders also remain stable.
These monthly price adjustments are part of Côte d’Ivoire’s automatic hydrocarbon pricing mechanism, which links domestic prices to global market rates.
