The Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum will be held on December 19 and 20 in Cairo, Egypt, marking a new stage in structuring the political and economic dialogue between Moscow and African countries.
The second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum will take place on December 19 and 20 in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
The announcement was made following a telephone conversation between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, which focused on prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The meeting will bring together the foreign ministers of Russia and African states, as well as representatives of African regional integration organisations.
It falls within the institutional framework of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, launched to structure political, economic, and sectoral relations between the two parties.
Among the key items on the agenda is the follow-up to the forum’s action plan for the period 2023-2026.
Discussions will focus on the next steps to deepen strategic partnerships, with a particular
emphasis on developing trade, strengthening economic cooperation, and promoting investment.
The Cairo conference is also presented as a key step in preparing for the third Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled for 2026.
It should allow for an interim assessment of the commitments made at previous meetings and the clarification of shared priorities for the coming years.
The first Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum was held in Sochi on November 9 and 10, 2024, laying the groundwork for a regular format for consultations between Moscow and African capitals, complementing the summits of heads of state and government.
