FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the Grand Stade in Tangier on Saturday, September 20, 2025, to inspect the progress of its renovation.
The stadium is expected to be completed soon and will be a key venue for upcoming international football events.
Accompanied by Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), and Younes Tazi, the Wali of Tangier, Infantino was given a tour of the site by construction officials.
According to the FRMF’s official website, Infantino was highly impressed with the work, congratulating Morocco on the new football infrastructure. The FIFA President noted that the stadium will strengthen the kingdom’s position on the global football stage.
The renovation is a critical part of Morocco’s preparations to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup, which the country will co-host with Portugal and Spain. Infantino’s visit highlights the stadium’s importance in Morocco’s strategic vision for football development and its growing international reputation.
