Led by Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga, alongside World Bank Operations Officer Ronald Rateiwa and Senior Economist Rachel K. Sebudde, the bilateral discussion centered on key insights from the Kenya Country Private Sector Diagnostic 2.0. The meeting focused on establishing practical frameworks to modernize public procurement, streamline healthcare regulatory structures, and expand market entry for domestic producers.
The joint initiative aims to reinforce national health security while driving progress toward Universal Health Coverage. By linking private sector diagnostic recommendations with active government supply chain reforms, the partnership seeks to elevate local manufacturing capacity. This strategic alignment is intended to meet internal healthcare demands across Kenya while positioning domestic suppliers to compete effectively in broader regional and pan-African medical markets.
