President Hakainde Hichilema will travel to the United Kingdom this week for a three-day working visit that includes an audience with King Charles III and a series of investment-focused engagements in London aimed at deepening bilateral ties and attracting capital to Zambia.
The visit, confirmed by State House spokesperson Clayson Hamasaka on Monday, comes at a time when Zambia is intensifying its economic diplomacy efforts to position itself as a competitive destination for trade and investment.
In London, Hichilema will participate in an investment forum that brings together business leaders and policy stakeholders to explore opportunities for deeper economic collaboration.
He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with UK government officials to advance discussions on trade, development, and strategic partnerships.
“Each of these dialogues will feed into the government’s broader mission of transforming Zambia into a competitive economy and delivering sustained growth,” Hamasaka said.
Zambia and the UK share a long-standing relationship dating back to the pre-independence era, which has evolved into broad-based cooperation across sectors including education, health, mining and governance.
