Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema is expected in Nairobi on Monday to attend the inaugural Africa Forward Summit, a high‑level meeting co‑hosted by Kenya’s President William Ruto and France’s President Emmanuel Macron.
The gathering, formally known as the Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth Summit, brings together heads of state, business leaders and development partners to advance a new model of cooperation centred on innovation, investment and equal partnership.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe said Hichilema will join fellow leaders in discussions aimed at elevating African voices in global decision‑making and securing concrete, bankable outcomes.
He said the summit will focus on seven priority themes aligned with Zambia’s development agenda: reform of the international financial architecture, energy transition, green industrialisation, digital innovation, sustainable agriculture, health systems and coordinated climate action.
“Zambia will highlight its journey in renewable energy, responsible mining, digital connectivity, modernised agriculture, and stronger health infrastructure, while advocating for fairer global finance and collective climate solutions,” Haimbe said.
On the sidelines of the summit, Hichilema is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other heads of state and government.
