King Mohammed VI has appointed 24 auditors as second-grade magistrates to Morocco’s financial courts, a move announced by the Court of Auditors on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
This royal decision follows a proposal made by the Council of the Judiciary of the Financial Courts during its session in December 2025. The appointments underscore the Sovereign’s commitment to the effective functioning of these institutions, which serve as vital pillars for national transparency, accountability, and the rigorous management of public funds.
The integration of these new magistrates is designed to enhance the human and operational capacity of the courts as they navigate the increasingly complex challenges of modernizing public administration. In addition to the new appointments, the Court revealed that 155 existing magistrates were promoted to a newly established principal rank. This restructuring of career paths, initiated under royal directives, aims to provide better professional advancement opportunities while strengthening the judiciary’s ability to oversee financial governance.
Led by First President Zineb El Adaoui, the Court of Auditors continues to evolve its internal structure to meet the growing demands for public sector oversight. These institutional reforms reflect a broader national strategy to reinforce the independence and professional standards of Morocco’s financial judiciary, ensuring that the country’s economic governance remains aligned with international best practices.
