Morocco has reached a historic milestone in its tourism sector, nearly touching the 20 million visitor mark for the first time.
According to a statement released on Monday, January 5, 2026, by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Kingdom recorded 19.8 million arrivals in 2025. This performance represents a significant 14% increase compared to the previous year, signaling a solid and upward trajectory for the nation’s travel industry.
This record-breaking achievement is attributed to the successful implementation of the 2023–2026 Tourism Roadmap. This strategic plan has focused on expanding air connectivity, increasing hotel accommodation capacity, and diversifying the country’s tourism offerings while improving overall service quality and local investment. The growth in arrivals has been matched by financial success, with tourism revenues reaching a record 124 billion dirhams by the end of November 2025, marking a 19% rise over 2024 and solidifying the sector’s role as a primary economic driver.
Minister of Tourism Fatim-Zahra Ammor noted that welcoming nearly 20 million tourists reflects a profound transformation of the industry, guided by the vision of King Mohammed VI to create a more efficient and sustainable tourism model. The Ministry views this milestone as a critical step toward the Kingdom’s ultimate goal of hosting 26 million tourists by 2030, further positioning Morocco as a premier global destination.
