The 18th edition of the International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM) concluded on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, setting a significant milestone with over 1.13 million visitors recorded throughout the event.
Held in Meknes from April 20 to 28, the exhibition centered on the theme of sustainability in animal production and food sovereignty. This year’s edition saw a massive global turnout, featuring participation from 76 countries and nearly 1,590 exhibitors, including 360 international entities and 538 cooperatives. Portugal was featured as the guest of honor, a selection that organizers noted helped open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in areas such as agricultural research and innovation.
The fair’s commissioner general highlighted that these record-breaking figures solidify SIAM’s reputation as a premier national, African, and international platform for agricultural development. Beyond the sheer volume of attendees, the show functioned as a vital hub for professional networking and knowledge exchange. Over the course of nine days, the event hosted various conferences, panel discussions, and business-to-business meetings that addressed pressing industry challenges, including digitalization, climate change adaptation, and the modernization of value chains.
The strong institutional and ministerial presence at this edition further underscored its importance in shaping collective reflection on the future of agriculture. By bringing together experts and professionals to share best practices, the exhibition successfully fostered a space for innovation and the promotion of local products. As the 2026 edition draws to a close, the results reaffirm the event’s status as a fundamental driver for strengthening the Kingdom’s food sovereignty and its leadership in the regional agricultural sector.
