Peru’s incoming government has reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its Southern Provinces following a meeting between President-elect Keiko Fujimori and Moroccan ambassador to Lima, Amin Chaoudri.
According to the office of the president-elect, Peru’s position is part of its support for a definitive resolution of the Western Sahara dispute based on Morocco’s autonomy plan for the territory.
During the meeting, Ambassador Chaoudri delivered a congratulatory message from King Mohammed VI to Keiko Fujimori following her victory in the presidential election.
Talks also focused on bilateral relations and a number of issues of mutual interest, including the Western Sahara question.
The president-elect further reiterated her support for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 of October 31, 2025, which considers Morocco’s autonomy plan as a basis for resolving the regional dispute.
King Mohammed VI praised the quality of relations between Rabat and Lima, describing them as rooted in friendship, mutual respect and shared values. He also expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
