Brazil’s Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo, President-elect of Rotary International (2025-2026), arrived in Abidjan on Sunday, May 4, 2025, for a five-day working visit.
This working visit by Mario Cesar Martins, who is setting foot on Ivorian soil for the first time, comes just weeks before his inauguration. It will be marked by a series of activities, including meetings with Rotarians and Rotaractors.
During his stay in Côte d’Ivoire, Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo, the new President of Rotary International, whose term runs from 2025 to 2026, will visit charitable organisation’s projects. He will also hold audiences with Ivorian authorities.
Rotarians are already working to extend a warm welcome to the President-elect of Rotary International, whose visit sends a strong signal and a mark of recognition for the commitment and dynamism of the clubs in Côte d’Ivoire.
Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo is a business consultant for the graphics industry and former director of Grafica Bandeirantes, a printing company founded by his father.
He joined Rotary in 1980 at the age of 23, specifically the Rotary Club of Santo André, Brazil. A former trustee and member of the organisation’s Board of Directors, he is the fourth Brazilian to serve as president of Rotary International.
He has also held several international volunteer positions, including Rotary International Learning Facilitator and Zone Coordinator for the Avoidable Blindness Task Force.
He has also served as Latin America Coordinator for the Health Issues Task Force, Rotary International President’s Representative, and delegate to the Council on Legislation. Brazilian Mario Cesar Martins has also served in several committees, including the Rotary International Committee on Membership Development, the Rotary Foundation Programme Finance Committee, and the International PolioPlus Committee.
