King Mohammed VI has officially presided over the launch of a major new industrial complex for Safran Landing Systems in Nouaceur, Casablanca, marking a sophisticated evolution in Morocco’s aerospace capabilities.
This massive project involves an investment exceeding 3 billion dirhams, roughly 280 million euros, and will be situated on a seven-hectare site with 26,000 square meters dedicated to advanced manufacturing. The facility is designed to be a global center for the production, assembly, and maintenance of landing gear, specifically targeting the high-demand Airbus A320 aircraft family.
The selection of Morocco for this high-precision facility underscores the country’s growing reputation for macroeconomic stability and the high quality of its industrial infrastructure. According to Safran executives, the availability of a skilled local workforce was a decisive factor in their multi-million euro commitment. Beyond its industrial output, the complex is expected to create 500 direct jobs and will include comprehensive training programs to ensure local technicians can master the complex certification and assembly processes required by international aviation standards.
Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour noted that mastering these complex landing gear systems significantly strengthens Morocco’s position within the global aerospace value chain. By the end of 2025, the nation’s aerospace exports had already reached 29 billion dirhams, supporting a workforce of 25,000 people. Furthermore, the site will operate using decarbonized energy, aligning the project with international sustainability goals and ensuring that Morocco remains a competitive, future-ready hub for the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers.
