The Senegalese Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has released its monthly report for June 2026, showcasing sustained activity and a positive dynamic in the country’s expanding hydrocarbons sector.
Driven by continuous extraction, the nation successfully shipped multiple cargoes of both crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the international market, reinforcing the extractive sector’s strategic role in fueling the national economy.
In the oil sector, Senegal exported a total volume of 2.94 million barrels of crude oil across three distinct cargoes up to June 2026. This performance underscores the stability of the country’s production plateau, which ministry officials attribute to the excellent condition of the reservoirs and the overall technical efficiency of the production and export facilities.
Parallel progress was recorded in the gas sector, specifically tied to the offshore Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project. During the same period, the project successfully executed the export of three LNG cargoes, accumulating a total volume of 0.49 million cubic meters. The ministry highlighted this development as a clear reflection of the gradual and successful ramp-up of Senegal’s offshore gas infrastructure. Overall, the official report emphasizes the steady continuity of operations and a strong forward momentum for the West African nation’s energy ambitions.
