The Senegalese government says it is focusing on implementing major structural projects under its National Transformation Agenda (ANT), prioritising water, energy, infrastructure, and the revitalisation of public enterprises.
During a Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko announced the imminent launch of key initiatives, including the Grand Water Transfer, rural electrification and water supply programs, digital identity, the Dakar–Tambacounda standard-gauge railway line, the renewal of the freight transport fleet, and a cooperative agriculture program.
He also emphasised the need to accelerate ongoing projects in the port, highway, airport, agro-industry, railway, digital, and energy sectors, while advancing strategic projects that have been pending.
The Prime Minister further highlighted the importance of restructuring struggling public enterprises, including Sonacos, SN La Poste, and Air Sénégal, and announced a forthcoming tour to oversee progress on these projects.
