Tunisia’s startup ecosystem has earned a spot among the world’s top 20, according to the 25th edition of the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) published by Startup Genome. This global recognition underscores Tunisia’s strategic commitment to supporting high-impact innovation.
The ranking, unveiled at the VivaTech trade show in Paris, is based on a comprehensive analysis of over five million companies across 350 innovation hubs worldwide. Between July 2022 and December 2024, the Tunisian ecosystem generated an estimated value of $113 billion.
Regionally, Tunisia stands out, ranking third in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for “affordable talent” and second for the “value for money” of financing. Furthermore, the country is listed among the Top 10 globally for the “Financing” index, and among the Top 15 in both “Talent & Experience” and “Knowledge” categories.
Tunisian innovation is primarily driven by three key sectors fueled by ambitious projects in green hydrogen, bolstered by initiatives like Flywheel, and structured around the newly established AI Innovation Hub.
Supportive measures such as the Startup Act, various tax incentives, the ANAVA fund ($113.6 million), and the Visa Digital Nomad project are collectively positioning Tunisia as an increasingly attractive hub for entrepreneurs and investors alike.
