A Ugandan military plane has crashed at the main airport in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Wednesday.
Eight people were on board the aircraft as it came down.
There were dark plumes of smoke billowing into the sky above the Aden Adde airport shortly after the crash.
The small military aircraft serving the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia crashed and caught fire as it landed at the airport, the Somali National News Agency reported.
The African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) has been helping the strife-torn country deal with a long running insurgency by al-Shabab militants, whose stated aim is to overthrow the government.
They opposes the deployment to Somalia of foreign troops which include soldiers from neighbours Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.
