The World Karate Federation (WKF) held a virtual meeting on Tuesday from its headquarters in Madrid, Spain, to assess the current state of karate internationally and outline future prospects.
Chaired by Antonio Espinos, the meeting brought together WKF officials and representatives from national federations. It provided an opportunity to take stock of the sport’s progress and define common goals for strengthening its global presence.
Discussions focused on major upcoming events, such as the 2025 World Games and the Senior World Championships. The desire to see karate reintegrated into the Olympic program was also a central theme.
Other topics discussed included the “Guardian Girls” program, which promotes female empowerment through karate, as well as the redesign of the WKF website to enhance its visibility.
Antonio Espinos stressed the importance of solidarity and cooperation between different
federations to advance karate on the international scene.
