Air Côte d’Ivoire and Brazilian manufacturer Embraer announced a major deal at the Dubai Airshow on Monday, signing a firm purchase agreement for four Embraer E175 aircraft.
The agreement also includes an option to purchase an additional eight aircraft, signaling a significant modernization of the Ivorian carrier’s fleet.
The national airline plans to use these new regional jets to replace its existing fleet of Bombardier Q400 turboprops. The E175 jets will feature a two-class configuration, offering 12 seats in business class and 64 seats in economy.
Air Côte d’Ivoire highlighted several key benefits of the new aircraft: Improved Speed and Range: The jets are significantly faster and offer a longer range than the current turboprops. Operational Flexibility: This allows for greater efficiency on both the domestic and regional networks. Passenger Comfort: The E175 is well-suited to the size of the West African market while offering an improved passenger experience. Optimal Cost-Effectiveness: The jets are expected to deliver better operational efficiency.
The first of the ordered aircraft are scheduled for delivery starting in the first half of 2027. This investment positions Air Côte d’Ivoire to strengthen its presence and service quality across the region.
