Kaylia Nemour continues her impressive trajectory on the world stage, officially qualifying for both the all-around and balance beam finals at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.
During the qualifying rounds held on Monday, October 20, the Algerian artistic gymnast delivered a strong performance, earning a total score of 53.865 points. This placed her second overall, just behind Japan’s Sugihara and ahead of Germany’s Schnmaier, cementing her status as a favorite for the all-around title.
Nemour, who is also the reigning Olympic champion on the uneven bars, demonstrated consistency across all four apparatuses. Despite a fall during her balance beam routine, her solid score of 13.233 on that apparatus was high enough to secure her a spot in the event final.
The all-around final is scheduled for Thursday, October 23. If Nemour is successful, she would become the first African woman to win the World Championships in the all-around competition.
Nemour is the leading figure in Algeria’s seven-person delegation at the championships, which features 483 athletes from 82 countries. The 2025 World Championships are set to conclude on October 25 in Jakarta.
