In a thrilling final, the Baby Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire defeated Cameroon 62-49 to win their first-ever FIBA U16 Boys’ Afrobasket title.
The victory, sealed at the Petit Stade de Kigali on September 14, 2025, not only marks a new chapter in Ivorian basketball history but also qualifies them for the 2027 U17 World Cup.
The Ivorian team showcased a powerful blend of teamwork and sharp shooting that proved too much for the Cameroonians. They maintained their lead throughout the game, with Cameroon’s 27 turnovers providing 18 crucial points for Côte d’Ivoire, solidifying their path to victory.
