Launched in the Mediterranean and at Egyptian bases, Exercise Medusa-14 brings together land, naval, air, and special forces units from several allied countries, mobilised to strengthen their interoperability and share their operational expertise.
The activities of Exercise Medusa-14 have begun in the Mediterranean and at several Egyptian bases.
This exercise unites land, naval, air, and special forces from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and
France, as well as 12 observer countries.
The forces participating in the joint exercise “Medusa-14” arrived in recent days at Egyptian naval and air bases, the army spokesperson announced in a statement released on Wednesday.
The exercise activities will continue for several days within the perimeter of the Mediterranean theater of operations, at the Mohamed Naguib military base, and at several military air bases.
At the opening ceremony, Major General Sherif Al-Arayshi, head of the Armed Forces Training Authority, emphasised that the exercise presents a promising opportunity to “exchange experiences and learn about new, modern military tactics, thereby strengthening military cooperation and supporting effective and competent joint operations.”
Following the opening ceremony, commanders from the participating nations visited an exhibition of weapons and equipment slated for use during the various phases of the exercise, according to local media.
