Former Senegalese President Macky Sall, a candidate for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations,
arrived this Friday shortly after 3 p.m. at the Leopold Sedar Senghor military airport in Yoff.
Upon disembarking from his plane the former president was greeted by a large crowd of political leaders, activists, and supporters who came to give him a rousing welcome.
According to the announced schedule, Mr Sall is then to be received by his successor President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, for a meeting at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting comes as the former head of state continues his diplomatic campaign for support for his bid to become Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN).
