Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has condemned recent statements about the occupation of Gaza and the displacement of its population as “dangerous and unacceptable.”
He said these remarks threaten not only Palestinian civilians but also the stability of the entire region.
Speaking at a meeting on Euro-Mediterranean relations, Bourita reiterated that Morocco’s position, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, is one of “firm denunciation and absolute rejection of these provocative remarks.” He added that the statements threaten to make the two-state solution disappear completely.
Bourita also warned that actions in Jerusalem, such as repeated threats and incursions, risk turning the political conflict into a religious one, which would have “unpredictable consequences.”
Bourita also stated that Morocco, following royal instructions, has condemned attacks on Syria and Qatar and expressed its solidarity with Doha. He stressed the importance of using “all the instruments at the international community’s disposal” to end violations of international and humanitarian law, citing “organized famine, attacks against journalists and unarmed civilians.”
He concluded by reaffirming that peace must remain a strategic choice and that the only viable path to a lasting settlement in the Middle East is the creation of a Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Without this, he warned, tensions and extremism will only continue to grow.
