The Crans Montana Forum will hold its 40th session in Rabat from October 1 to 4, with a focus on Atlantic cooperation and Africa’s role in global trade.
The event, which will host heads of state, ministers, and business leaders, is a celebration of the Forum’s four decades of work.
Jean-Paul Carteron, the Forum’s founding president, stated that the meeting is aligned with King Mohammed VI’s vision of transforming the Atlantic coast into a space of peace and solidarity. Carteron called the Forum an “innovative crossroads for interregional cooperation” and stressed the importance of involving local authorities in this effort.
This year, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will be a major focus. A special session, “DRC 2030: Mining, Energy, Industrialization, and Economic Sovereignty,” will highlight the country’s potential in key sectors. The DRC is expected to be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Mukoko Samba.
The four-day program will cover a variety of global issues, including digital and logistics connectivity in Africa, food security, the energy transition, and intercontinental transport challenges.
The inaugural session will feature prominent speakers, including Moroccan Minister of Energy Transition Leila Benali, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda Paul Chet Greene. The United Arab Emirates, a key partner, will also be represented by several of its investment funds and institutions. The Forum’s last session in Casablanca focused on maritime safety, demonstrating its growing influence on global discussions.
