Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurated on Monday, the “Mohammed VI Tower,” a new architectural landmark in the Moroccan capital.
It is positioned among the most innovative and high-performance buildings in Africa under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
Acting on the instructions of King Mohammed VI, the Crown Prince officially opened the structure located on the right bank of the Bouregreg River in Rabat.
Rising to 250 meters with 55 floors, the tower is part of the “Rabat City of Light” development program, aimed at strengthening the capital’s urban and cultural attractiveness.
The inauguration ceremony included a tour of the complex’s main components, which feature cultural spaces, residential apartments, a luxury hotel, and a panoramic observatory overlooking Rabat and Salé. Moroccan authorities describe the project as one designed to combine urban development with the enhancement of historical heritage.
Developed by the O Capital Group, the complex also includes office and commercial spaces, with a focus on high-end services. The project is part of a broader strategy to modernise urban infrastructure across the kingdom.
Technically, the tower has been designed to meet advanced standards in seismic resistance and energy efficiency. The integration of systems such as solar panels and energy recovery technologies aims to achieve international environmental certifications, reflecting Morocco’s ambitions in sustainable development.
Beyond energy efficiency, the Mohammed VI Tower also incorporates advanced systems for energy recovery and rainwater harvesting. These features have enabled the building to obtain LEED Gold and HQE certifications, positioning it among the most innovative and high-performing structures on the African continent.
