The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday defeated the National Football Team of Jamaica 3-0 in London to win their fourth Unity Cup title.
Nigerian midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf, scored a brace in the 3rd and 91st minutes to ensure that his team successfully defend the title.
Yusuf opened the scoring early in the encounter before Terem Moffi doubled Nigeria’s advantage.
Moffi’s goal came after Femi Azeez beat his marker and delivered a cross into the penalty area, which the striker converted.
Yusuf sealed the victory for Nigeria in stoppage time when he connected a pass from Phil Otele and fired beyond the Jamaican goalkeeper.
According to local media reports, the Super Eagles got to the final after defeating Zimbabwean National Football Team 2-0 in the semi-final stage of the tournament.
Femi Azeez scored both goals in the semi-final victory.
This victory earned Nigeria the 4th Unity Cup title andthea second consecutive championship after defeating Jamaica in the previous edition.
The Unity Cup is an annual four-nation international football tournament in London, featuring countries with large diaspora communities in the United Kingdom.
